Susurrus

donderbezem One of the most overlooked releases of this year. Beholden to neither early 90's orthodoxy, nor more recent post-black metal trends, Susurrus is ritualistic, low-fi and bizarre. Highly recommended for late night drives on dark back roads. Favorite track: The Tanfana Stone.

Evokations 11:19
Cloaks and capes in humid air Secrecy each man must swear When the stars above align The fifth ward of the 7th sign In tribute of the effigy The effigy of destiny The acolytes and apostates Lay offerings before the Fates And Astaroth shall answer all The hunger, thirst of ev’ry soul And then we ‘ll loose ourselves at last From the shackles of our past And watch us rise above all nations Know our strength through evokations Our voices sow the seed To grain of knowledge we all need Watch us rise above all nations Know our strength through evokations Crushing smallest stars to dust Which wavers over all Earth’s crust The lesser key of Solomon And 18 kings of Lemegeton Ruling the religious schizm Pivotal of cataclysm A second for a century Indulgement in impurity The green grimoiric ritual Performed with most solemnity To search the source of courage To dive in Hades’ deep The circle widens ‘neath the moon The no-man’s land ‘tween guard and sleep And watch us rise above all nations Know our strength through evokations Our voices sow the seed To grain of knowledge we all need Watch us rise above all nations Know our strength through evokations We will rise above As you will dwell below

The parasite of life The scourge of many an oak The green that never fades Causing to moan and croak A prophesying dream With which it all begun As Freya saw a vision Of the killing of her son Verily, Baldur, wrong were they They erred to overlook Though all things pledged to be harm-free A different course it took It was not stone, it would be soft And water would not drown No sword or spear would taste his blood None that would bring him down Mistletoe damnation The smallest sting will smite Mistletoe damnation Untouchable body of light The Entity of all deceit Would craft a poison toy The spear of Loki, as it was: The ravager of joy ‘Tis brought upon, ’tis brought upon Destruct this brotherhood Let the blind one take his aim And win the losing game ‘Tis brought upon, ’tis brought upon Night enters Asgard’s palace The hand of innocence be guided By the grip of malice So why did Hoder lose his sight? Might be that he forsook his plight? A battle should have seen him fall For only heroes reach Valhall! Among the laughter of the place And gestures of obedience The woe that falls upon tomorrow Shot forth from expedience Unaware of the unwary Baldur’s heart exposed A treach’rous plan unfolded While the door to safety closed Mistletoe damnation The smallest sting will smite Mistletoe damnation Untouchable body of light Not fallen before war’s last chime He’d face the disgrace of Nifelheim! And on his knees, knighted by death The most unlikely fate he hath Devious smiles would Loki hide Hilarious fraternicide Shook Asgard on its great foundations Sourer still its implications Salvation for the just or wise? This dying one missed paradise The sky goddess, she didn’t see The subtleties of treachery Birds carry forth the killers tool Its spawning it shall ever rule Yet Freyr won’t prevent its flight The seeds of grief grow day and night. Mistletoe damnation The smallest sting will smite Mistletoe damnation Untouchable body of light

Time took the better of the priest Sermon-weary, not the the least Entering his sanctuary The church, the church is empty The air is moist, the light is dim There’s mold that’s creeping up the walls Frescoes gone beyound repair The church, the church is empty And thus decays a house of God The sounds of worship have reduced From benches left as woodwormfood Made from trees that bear no fruit Old lady’s tribute to gospel’s truth Her bouquets replace absent youth It seems the time for saving souls Is withering and waning The old priest rises from his seat The chancel steps creak ‘neath his feet It seems the time for Chosen Ones Runs out like clouds when raining No successor for the man A cold wind blowing through the aisles The flock has fled to modern times The bell for deaf man’s ears it chimes And thus decays a house of God The sounds of worship have reduced From benches left as woodwormfood Made from trees that bear no fruit The air is moist, the light is dim There’s mold that’s creeping up the walls Frescoes gone beyound repair The church, the church is empty

The Imminent 04:46
Beneath a mystical moon And in the spirit of Gaia infuriated Incantations are spoken A desire to revive the lost May all the pagan entities Contemplate, heed the warnings To the cause of righteous battle Against the curse of the void Ancient words and verses Forged with the blood of dedication For those whose sight shall see Through deceit of misconceptions The only faith remaining Just one thing left to believe Is the truth that is denied by most: The Green Apocalypse is looming! Touch the bark and grab the soil Illiterate but skilled survivalist Preserving heathen values Society opposed, yet compelled to join in There, where minds are poisoned Spirits are burdened by vulgar lead The weight endarkens mine But I shall rise above Destruction is imminent Humanity saturated to the brink of insanity Many must die A new world shall respawn I am - the one awaiting I am - the one to say I am - the Unfolding I am - the Imminent

Shadows drawn towards the trees And humming in the winter’s night Colossal stone at new moon stands Where worshippers bow at its sight Silent moans and saddened hearts Of folk in famine, at wit's end Calling to gods and ancestors Linked with the barren land The earthgoddess must grant her favour Pray we’re not mercy deprived We offer scarce possessions Since our fortune deeply dived The demon-haunted children Nightly cries feed fear alone As hunger whirling down like snow So chilling to the bone We call upon Tanfana Sacrificial liquid flows On the altar stone of Tan’s hill Sanctioned by the sound of crows Our tributes are subject to change The trees are channeling our pleas And from an edge of gold we know It’s Tanfana who sees Endure the suffering, give more As blood evaporates in air Inebriation, dedication It's Tanfana who’s there

The Magpie 21:36
As Fall comes with melancholy I see the Acer Rubrum tree Its bloodred leaves, a season’s shroud
A widow no one cares about The magpie’s voice ‘neath clouds ash grey Its hateful chatter comes my way
It warns all creatures far and near
Those ancient words are what I hear: “One for Sorrow Two for Joy Three for a Girl Four for a Boy Five for Silver Six for Gold Seven for a tale never to be told Eight you Live Nine you Die…”
I hear it, it’s the magpie! Wand’ring ‘neath the oak archway
I watch the waning light of day
Their barked pillars standing tall
And glorious like a cathedral Onward, lured to muddy paths
I am the fool who’s led by laughs
Succumbing to the time it takes
Past roots of trees like wooden snakes This place, it calms my troubled mind
At times when I can’t stand my kind And when I get back on my way
The magpie’s chatter comes my way “One for Sorrow Two for Joy Three for a Girl Four for a Boy Five for Silver Six for Gold Seven for a tale never to be told Eight you Live Nine you Die…”
I hear it, it’s the magpie!
